Flower Pins for Mother Daughter Teas

Mother’s Day is right around the corner and that means lots of mother/daughter teas are in the works. Many times these teas have a craft table set up for making things. This darling flower pin is a perfect project for mothers and daughters to do together, for each other. It is simple but creates a special remembrance that can be worn and cherished.

You will need the following supplies and materials.
(All pieces cut from Kunin Felt Premium, Classic or Corduroy 9” x 12” craft cuts in colors of your choosing)

  • Assorted Colors of Felt
  • Sizzix Die Cut Machine
  • Laura Kelly Flower #6 Die
  • Scissors
  • Felt Glue
  • Rubber Bands
  • Pin Backs

Each pin will need two flower die-cuts. Cut out a bunch of different colors to choose from using the flower die and the die-cut machine.

Glue two flower die-cuts together.

Glue a square to cover the hole on the back.

Cut a strip of felt (1/2 inch by 12 inches) and roll it then glue it closed. Glue it to the center of your flower and use a rubber band to hold it together until it dries.

Hand cut with scissors a green stem and add it with glue. Glue a pin to the back. If you want to wear the pins right away, this activity would need to be done with hot glue. Ta Da!

You can now find an expanded color line of Kunin® ClassicfeltKunin® Premiumfelt and Corduroy non-wovens fabrics in cut by the yard at your local Walmart; please inquire as to what is available in your area.

Cheers to Celebrating Moms,
Laura
