New Year’s Party Hat & Mask

Bring in the New Year with this fun DIY New Years party hat and mask! If you’re looking for a fun, easy, and creative craft for kids to make on New Years Eve, this craft is perfect for you! Let’s grab our supplies and wow the partygoers with this DIY New Years party hat and mask!

You Will Need:

1. Find a party hat template by searching “Party Hat Template” in Google images. Print out the template onto cardstock or heavy-duty paper. Cut around the outer edge of the template with your scissors. This will be your guide as your cut the template out onto your felt.

2. Place the party hat template on top of your 9” x 12” craft cut of Kunin Gold Dot Coordinates™ in White. Trace the template onto your felt with a marker or cut around the edge of your template with a scissors.

3. Using adhesive, glue the cardstock party hat template together. Then, adhere the felt around the cardstock party hat template. Using an Ellison SuperStar Machine, die cut a Sizzix Bigz XL Die – Border, Crown Item #A10763 in 9″ x 12” craft cuts of Kunin Gold Dot Coordinates™ in the color Black. Personalize your crown with text using Laura Kelly’s Lemonade Capital Letters Die Cut.

4. Create a tassel pom pom using 9″ x 12” craft cuts of Kunin Gold Dot Coordinates™ in the color Black. Follow these steps to create your tassel pom pom for the top of your new years party hat!

Step 1: Cut out a 2-inch circle.
Step 2: Fold the circle in half.
Step 3: Fold the circle in half a second time.
Step 4: Hold the pom pom on the pointed end. Using a pair of scissors, cut strips into the open end of your folded circle.

5. Create this coordinating new years party mask using your Ellison Prestige Pro Machine. Die cut the mask using the Ellison SureCut Die – Mask, Superhero – Double Cut Item #30475-DC die. This mask is a fun way for students to express their creativity and make their own unique and fun mask for any New Years event!
