Felt Mitts and Sweater Ornaments

Last year at the summer SPC, Sierra Pacific Crafts-Mixed Media Tradeshow I had the great pleasure to meet Els Van de Burght with Elizabeth Craft Designs. She was demoing her new winter steel cut dies, adorable sweaters and mittens. A question, an intro and Els is trying out the felt with her intricate steel dies. The results cozy felt sweaters and mittens.
Fast forward to the AFCI Creativation show in Phoenix in January and an editor with Annie’s comes by the Kunin booth, loves the sweater and mitts and asks if I can create some ornament sets for a special Holiday issue, “Trim the Tree”. Fast forward another few months and a copy of the magazine arrives in my mailbox!

With the intricate steel cut dies applying a thin adhesive sheet to the back of the felt stabilizes it even further to cut easily. The sweaters are cut from our Classicfelt with adhesive sheets from Elizabeth Craft Designs. Check out their how-to video showing the festive sweater collection they created. https://www.elizabethcraftdesigns.com/products/winter-sweater

Look how cute these dies are, there are several accessories with the die, even a hanger!

The mittens are super cute too and with baker’s twine as the perfect finishing touch!

Thank you to Els and Elizabeth Craft Designs for sharing their dies and allowing this Designer to have fun making mitts and sweaters. A big thank you to Annie’s for the two-page article in the special edition “Trim the Tree”!

You can now find an expanded color line of Kunin Eco-fi ClassicfeltEco-fiPlus™ Premiumfelt and ShaggiChicnon-wovens fabrics in cut by the yard at your local Walmart; please inquire as to what is available in your area.

Happy crafting!
Debra
