Kunin Felt Girl Scout Cookie Booth

Cookie season is such a fantastic time of year for Girl Scouts. It is the time when we work together as a troop towards a common vision AND the girls work independently on personal goals. While learning about fund raising, finances and commitment; I like to be sure the girls in my troop also have a lot of fun and get to access their creativity. We like to design a booth and work together to make it happen. This year they chose the theme of Peace, Love and Cookies complete with rainbows, emoji’s and bright colors. It could not have turned out any better.

The first step was to build the booth. The dads helped and together girls earned their woodworking badge.

Next came the decorating. We gathered up our 9” x 12” craft cuts Kunin Classic felt in several colors, of course a lot of yellow! With felt as our main material, the girls each made emoji’s that we sewed in to a banner.

We also used a pennant die from Ellison to create a rainbow banner for the top of the booth.

Next came the rainbow pillow. This has been such a fun piece at the booth sales. The girls have worn it around their necks and let customers take photos with it as a prop!

Rainbow Felt Heart for Cookie Booth

The booth is so darling! It makes such a tremendous difference at the booth sales in front of grocery stores when shoppers stop by. The girls are so empowered by the never-ending compliments. Hearing them tell their stories of building and decorating as a troop family warms my heart.

The girls went one step further and made emoji masks to play with at the booth.
