Halloween Costume: Frida Kahlo

lb-september-26-frida-1

I’m not a huge fan of Halloween EXCEPT I LOVE to make original costumes for my daughter. This year we’re thinking about dressing her as Frida Kahlo. I always try to use what we have laying around the house and make the elements for her costumes, and this Frida costume is pretty easy to put together. You just need a peasant, skirt, an embroidered blouse, a stuffed monkey, an eyebrow pencil, and some fantastic felt flowers and you have Frida!

Supplies:

  • Eco-fiPlus™ Premiumfelt
  • Plain headband
  • Embroidery thread and needle
  • Hot glue gun

Instructions:

1.) Die cut flowers from felt.

2.) Use the die cut flowers to create a variety of felt flowers. You can see my videos for making felt flowers.

3.) Once you have a pile of felt flowers, simply glue them onto the headband using a low-temp hot glue. To create a very, Frida, headpiece.
