Traveling Art Portfolio

We are on the go A LOT and love to take our art supplies with us.  I whipped up this easy and quick traveling art portfolio to use with my Tombow Irojiten colored pencils and the supplies needed to create with them.  It came out darling and the best part of all is that it WORKS.  It works great.

Traveling Art Portfolio Label

You will need:

  • 12” x 18” Kunin Eco-fiPlus™ Premiumfelt: 2 Candy Pink, 1 Peacock
  • 9” x 12” Kunin Eco-fi Classicfelt™: 1 Green, 1 Orange, 1 Purple
  • Flower Die by Laura Kelly for Sizzix
  • Big Shot, ruler, pencil, scissors, sewing machine and matching thread.

Use one piece of the 12” by 18” Candy Pink for the portfolio and the other to create pockets.  On one side, the pocket needs to be AT LEAST 11.25 X 8.75 in order to hold a standard memo pad.  The pockets on the other side can be sized to fit materials.  Be sure to make the pocket for pencils or markers MUCH deeper than the writing utensils so they don’t fall out.

I sewed the pockets in.

Sewing Pockets

Then I used fabric scraps and my flower die from Sizzix to create a cover on the other piece of Candy Pink.  I sewed the two large pieces together.

I added a stitch down the center to divide the sides (leaving the TOP OPEN for extra paper and coloring book storage)!
