1.) Craft Felt

Weight: 2.5 oz

100% synthetic, acrylic, polyester or blend

Fade resistant
Thin with an unevenness resulting in see through weak areas.
Inexpensive
Hand wash
Uses: simple children crafts.

2.) Kunin Eco-fi^® ClassicFelt^™

Weight 5 oz
Made from Eco-fi^® a high-quality fiber made from 100% post-consumer recycled and BPA-free plastic bottles.
9” by 12” Craft cuts, 1 yard cuts, cut by the yard
Wide variety of colors
Fade-resistant
Washable
Cuts cleanly with no fraying and can sew and glue easily.
Inexpensive
Pills some after use
Uses: a wide variety of craft and sewing projects, kids crafts.
Mold and mildew proof, indoors or out.
Use as ground cover in the garden for weed control.

3.) Kunin Eco-fi^®Plus Premiumfelt^™

Weight 8 oz
Made from Eco-fi® a high-quality fiber made from 100% post-consumer recycled and BPA-free plastic bottles.
12” by 18” Craft cuts, cut by the yard
Wide variety of colors
Fade-resistant
Machine washable, becomes softer with washing.
Cuts cleanly with no fraying and can sew and glue easily.
Moderately priced
Does not pill.
Uses: a wide variety of craft and sewing projects, fashion and home décor. Ground cover in the garden for weed control.
Mold and mildew proof, indoors or out.
Similar in weight and feel to a Wool Felt Blend

4.) Wool Felt Blends

Weight 9 oz
Made from real wool and either a 35% wool/65% rayon blend or a 20% wool/80% rayon blend.
Interwoven fibers, nubby texture, soft.
Wide variety of colors, can be dyed.
Will experience some fading.
Cuts cleanly with no fraying and can sew and glue easily.
Reasonably priced
Does not pill.
Uses: a wide variety of craft and sewing projects, fashion and home décor.

5.) Wool Felt

Weight 9 oz or plus
Made from real wool.
Variety of colors, can be dyed.
Will experience some fading.
Cuts with a fuzzy edge and fibers can be torn away.
Higher price range.
Does not pill.
Uses: Heirloom sewing, softies, fashion and home décor.

This is a basic comparison of the felt products available in stores and online. People have their preferences; some will only ever work in wool or wool blends. I have worked with both products and find that our Premium felt is equivalent to the wool felt blends. I prefer the Premium felt to work with, the variety of colors and quality of the product. When shopping for felt make sure to read the labels on the craft cuts and bolts. The imported Craft Felt is not of the same quality as our Eco-fi^® Classicfelt™ and could lead to disappointing results.
