Earth Day Yard Clean-Up Bag

Earth-Day-Bag-Final

This bag is awesome!  It is an Earth Day Yard Clean-Up Bag that could also be used for so many other purposes.   I was so excited when I finished it because it sparked my imagination for the winter holiday season.  I am totally making Santa Claus bags this year!  Okay, back to Earth…Day that is.

To make this you will need the following material,

  • 9″ x 12″ crafts cuts of Kunin Eco-fi Classicfelt, 2 Kelly Green, 2 Neon
  • 2 yards of Rope
  • Sewing Machine
  • Sizzix Die Cut Machine
  • Sizzix Leaf Die by Laura Kelly (That’s ME!)

Instructions:

1.) Fold your lagoon felt in half and fold over the two ends 4″.

2.) Place your rope (at least 12 inches longer than the width of the bag under the fold and sew it inside.  3. 3. Sew up the sides of the bag.

Use the bag to collect yard waste and clean-up.  And when that is all done, wash it and use it for dirty laundry or to take your towels to the pool in the summer!

You can now find an expanded color line of Kunin Eco-fi Classicfelt; Eco-fiPlus™ Premiumfelt and ShaggiChic non-wovens fabrics in cut by the yard at your local Walmart; please inquire as to what is available in your area.

  1. This would be a great project for scouts to use when they volunteer to do trash pick-up. The troop could make these as a craft project and then head out to beautify the nature areas. You are one crafty woman.

  2. My students would love to make something like this! This would be a great to bring in our environmental lab behind our school. Thanks for sharing!
