Celebrating Earth Day

Earth Day is April 22, 2016. We are celebrating all month long with our commitment to the environment and you are invited to celebrate along with us! Did you know that Kunin’s use of recycled plastic bottles in the manufacturing of its PET fiber/felt is reducing waste and contributing to environmental sustainability? So far this year we have recycled over 350,000,000 bottles. You can actually watch the counter here. http://eco-fi.com/

So what is Eco-fi® exactly? “It is a high-quality polyester fiber made from 100% certified recycled plastic PET bottles. It can go into any textile product such as clothing, blankets, carpets, wall coverings, auto interiors, home furnishings, and craft felt. Eco-fi® can also be blended with other fibers, such as cotton or wool, for enhanced qualities. AN EASY GUIDE: 12 bottles = 1 pound of fiber.”

Now comes the fun part for you! We will be posting three projects throughout the month on our Facebook page and all you have to do is check out the project and post a guess as to how many bottles we used to produce the felt to make the project. There are three projects to guess on and the person who comes the closest after the three weeks in total is the winner of a wonderful prize package containing our Eco-fiPlus™ Premiumfelt  felt, Westcott Brand scissors and Sizzix Dies designed by Laura Kelly. A prize package valued at $250.

Did you know our felt can be used outside to as ground cover in the garden for weed free gardening? You can wrap boring plastic pots with a colorful felt pot wrap. Our projects this month will show you how versatile and weather resistant felt is for outdoor décor.

We end the celebration right before Earth Day with a special blog hop, A Day in the Life of Kunin Enthusiasts where we will have a full day blog hop showing how Kunin is part of everyday life all day long!

So join us in a month long celebration of Kunin Eco-fi® felt products!  We would love to see you share on our Facebook page your own outdoor felt projects. Grab a felt craft cut at your local craft store and make your own plastic pot wrap.

Here is to celebrating Earth Day all month long!
