30 Minute Fall Placemats

photo1

I love fall, cooler days, leaves turning vibrant shades on the trees and changing up the home décor accents with fall inspired pillows and placemats. Today I am sharing another 30 minute crafting project. These fall placemats are made from Eco-fi Plus™. “Eco-fi Plus is an 8-ounce premium felt that uses natural silver and copper cleansing ions to resist mold, mildew, and odor and is made from recycled plastic bottles.” This luxury weight of felt washes well and is ideal for placemats. Just cut and go! Only have fifteen minutes cut the placemats and use fabric glue to add leaves.

You will need:
1/3yard of each color, cut by the yard Kunin Eco-fi Plus™, Camel and Walnut (this will make four placemats)
9” x 12” craftcuts Kunin Classicfelt™, 2 Orange
1 skein embroidery floss, brown, orange
scissors, ruler, pins, pencil, paper, chalk, rotary cutter, cutting mat, embroidery needle

How to:

1. Cut two 18” x 12” pieces from each piece of felt. Cut a 6” strip off the short end of each piece of felt. Cut eight 5” leaf shapes from orange felt.

2. Place a 6” strip on top of the opposite color larger piece. Stitch through both layers as shown. Open flat. Repeat for remaining placemats.
3. Pin leaves to strip and stitch through each leaf center with brown.

Want to make napkin rings to match. Just cut two 4” leaf shapes for each napkin ring. Stitch through center of leaf, add second leaf, continue stitching and join ends. Super simple and easy!

Make a set for other holidays or special events. Super quick and easy! A fun project with the kids, help them make their own special placemat.

Happy crafting! Thanks for stopping by!
