Camp Doll Diaries has been so much fun this summer and it is not over yet. I am sharing an outfit I created for McKayla which was featured on the Doll Diaries blog this week. You can find it here. http://dolldiaries.com/quick-craft-no-sew-felt-skirt-for-dolls/comment-page-1/#comment-292157 McKayla needed a new backpack for camping, sturdy yet super cute for back to school too! She chose the Printzfelt tie dye pattern. Tutorial for backpack here (http://www.debraquartermain.com/ceoblog/view/1088/backpack_for_mckayla) The backpack turned out so cute and was super easy so she decided on a skirt too. A couple folds, a little glue and the skirt was done!
You will need:
9″ x 12″ craft cut Kunin Printzfelt, 1 60’s Tie-dye.
Fabri-tac adhesive
1 button
1 Hook and loop round fastener
Ruler, marker, scissors
1. Mark wrong side of felt at 5” Fold 1, 6 ½”Fold 2, and 8” Fold 3.
2. Bring Fold 1 up to meet Fold 3 line. Finger press along line Fold 2. Glue fold.
3. Fold 3 over top of Fold 1 Line. Glue down.
4. Flip skirt to right side. Overlap ends and glue Velcro dot to hold skirt closed. Glue button to front.
The felt craft cuts are a perfect size to fit around the 18″ doll, less measuring or cutting! McKayla is all excited for a summer camping adventure this weekend in her too cute tie dye outfit. In a couple weeks she will be off to school in the same awesome outfit! Now what to make her for day two of school, hmm, stay tuned!
Thanks Doll Diaries for all the inspiration!
