Wrapping up coverage of the CHA show in Anaheim this week. Kunin was on the show floor not only in their own booth but in several other booths as well. In the Sizzix booth Marisa Pawelko’s (modernsurrealist.com) new line of young trendy dies was being demoed by her and the young crafty duo Tanner Bell and Courtney of A Little Craft in Your Day (alittlecraftinyourday.com). They were using some of the season felt with glitter designs and tie dye pattern to cut out sneakers, bracelet cuffs and sunglasses for embellishing clothing and accessories.

At the Beacon booth, Fabri-tac which bonds felt instantly, they were creating felt flowers for their Make and Takes. At the Prima booth they were making pretty felt wrist cuffs. At the Smoothfoam booth I also did a Make and Take, a little “Tweet” bag to hold a cell phone. Here I am with some of the attendees.

On the show floor professional CHA designer members had a display area on pedestals. I created a palm tree oasis from a Christmas wrap roll, coat hangers and Kunin prints felts. I loved the pink chevron pattern for the trunk. The coconuts were Smoothfoam balls wrapped with Neon Green felt.

Felt birds rested in the palm tree. Unfortunately two mornings a hurricane had come along during the night (the vacuums were industrial strength and the pedestals small) it disrupted a few displays, my palm tree blew over. The opening photo with the talented Jonathon Fong (jonathanfongstyle.com) dressed to match my display shows my tree day two, coconuts a little tangled but still intact.

And for you Survivor fans, Rupert was tie dyeing up a storm in the I Love to Create booth! Nice guy who is very crafty and believes it is a way to encourage and engage all young people.

The show coverage comes to an end; it was full of creativity and inspiration plus the nicest people ever. We share a passion, a love, a connection for creating, for sharing and connecting with others. Creativity whatever medium it is from paper crafting to beading to sewing and everything in between is rewarding and satisfying for every age. Just make something, it will make you happy!
